Universities clinical centre Eppendorf

MEDLOG is established at the intensive care unit ANITO. During the
current stage of expansion 7 rooms with 2 beds each are provided.
Data is continuosly requested, modified (interpretation and
standardising of raw data) and sent to the CliniComp PDMS used in the
division. The data then is provided to the doctor at a patients bed or
other workstations.

On this ward Braun fm computer are established which are provided with
perfusors and infusomats. Each pump of the fm is recognized by the
MEDLOG system. Hot-Plugging is a self-evident feature as well as clear
bed identification and recognition of particular pumps in the fluid
manager.
Further devices connected to the MEDLOG system within this particular
project are Pulsion Picco and Edwards Lifesciene Baxter Vigilance
(cardiac time volume measurement), Aspect A 1000 (EEG monitor) and
Fresenius Multifiltrat (acute dialysis).

All devices cable-connected with the MEDLOG system are connected to a
central on-line server via LAN. On this central on-line server all
components of MEDLOG as device driver libraries, database, web server,
communication software are installed. The PDMS requests data directly
from this server.

Together with the project partner MAQUET, Servo-I respiration systems
were connected to existing EMTEK Â patients data management systems via
MEDLOG device streamer. The MEDLOG device streamer is an intelligent
adaptor which is switched between the data transfer interfaces of
Servo I and EMTEK.

Before the project started, the cardiac centre has not had the
possibility to connect all medical device systems from intensive care
units to the EMTEK system. With this solution all relevant Servo I
ventilator data can be completely collected and automatically displayed
and processed in the PDMS.
